Storybook Tudor

Storybook Tudor

I have to say this was a first. Being greeted at the front door by a young woman with a bright green bird resting on her finger.

And so began my tour of Jesse Lee Levin’s magical English Tudor on a very quaint street in the Bowling West End neighborhood of Nashville. Once I got past my infatuation with her bird, Luigi, I was totally charmed by the home and the way Jesse has decorated it in every single space. Although the exterior is dark, the inside is flooded with light and a whimsical feel.

The spacious living room with dark stained floors and white walls is a beautiful canvas for the art Jesse and her husband have collected, like the impressive wooden piece on the coffee table from San Miguel de Allende!

The fireplace with an arched niche above it is one of the fabulous architectural elements in the home that was built in 1929. Clearly the home has been lovingly renovated over the years while retaining the original charm. And the house is on the market! (more on that at the end of blog)

Antique lighting throughout the home adds warmth along with pops of color in their furnishings, art and window treatments. And I’m always a sucker for a few nice arches.

The chef’s kitchen is over the top charming with all the ingredients for a room that’s the heart of the home.

From the painted floors, to the tin ceiling with beams, this is anything BUT a cookie cutter kitchen.

While the kitchen is large with plenty of seating at the island, there’s also a small space between it and the dining room that Jesse has made very inviting.

Down the hall you’ll find the primary bedroom suite that has the same charm and whimsy as the rest of the home.

Upstairs you’ll discover three more bedrooms, an office and a large second room that could be another bedroom but they use as a den/sitting area.

You may be wondering if the homeowner is a designer, but she’s actually a songwriter with noteworthy credits, including co-writing Kelsea Ballerini’s number one hit, “Peter Pan,” Keith Urban’s “That Could Still Be Us,” and “Like I Loved You,” co-written with and sung by Brett Young. So, yeah, she’s pretty creative.

Of course this would be my reading or napping room. What a great use of space for another bedroom or a nursery. Again, it goes without saying she has such flair for decor in her home. And outside, in the back yard which you can see from their small terrace, are other charming features, including a treehouse and chicken coops!!!

Other outdoor space includes two porches. A covered porch just off the kitchen and a porch on a front corner of the house.

I love where we live, but if I was by myself, I’d be making an offer on this magical tudor. Jesse has obviously poured her creativity into the home that is full of love and yes, birds!!!

Contact Jesse Lee Levin with Benchmark Realty for more information on this house that just went on the market several days ago.
