Palm Beach designer moves to Nashville

One of the coolest highrise residential buildings in downtown Nashville  these days is known by its numbers; the Twelve Twelve.  The people who are drawn to this towering glass structure in the Gulch tend to be empty nesters wanting to downsize, out of towners wanting a place in the city, or young professionals wanting a more private and sophisticated way of living.

Whatever the case may be, the appeal of Twelve Twelve is often the same; a unique combination of an incredibly convenient location, thoughtful floor plans, 24/7 security and an amenities package that offers ample living space outside of the actual walls of your own private residence.  Such as the green terrace where special events have been held.  This one was a dinner for Gilda’s Club.  What a spectacular setting!

Or there’s the owner’s lounge where you can hang out with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

The night lights from this vantage point are incredible.  What a place to entertain or just hang out.

But you must see one of the private residences. A couple from South Florida moved here and chose the Twelve Twelve for its location and what its owner calls smart floor plans.

What a fabulous space.  And it doesn’t hurt that the owner of this home is an architect/designer who has worked on many large projects in South Florida.

I’m crazy about the photograph shown above.  It was the first thing the owners purchased for the space, done by Jim Lee. It’s a photo he took of his girlfriend on a cross country road trip. Hysterical. I love her red shoes!

The leather wrapped Pantone chairs from Jayson Home are among the owner’s favorite things.  So sleek and chic.

And then their most recent purchase; these 1969 Italian Gio Ponti style lounge chairs.

The couple wanted to incorporate textures and prints that are reminiscent of their south Florida home.  This is the guest room with a dresser designed by the homeowner.

The couple wanted customized spaces so they converted a four by four pantry into a bar. It displays some of their Hemingway collection. The work was done by Hartert Russell.

The talented Hartert Russell also worked with them on building bookcases for her treasured design books, and on wardrobe cabinetry.

Aren’t these wardrobe cabinets handsome, and I love the chair as well.  And then there’s the lovely white master bedroom. Simply elegant with the blue piping on the bedding and monogram.  Being a dog lover, of course I adore the charming accent pillow which says, “my goal in life is to be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.”

This homeowner says when it came right down to it, besides all the amenities, it was what the Twelve Twelve offered for pets that finally sold them.  Those amenities include an “Evolution Dog Wash,” and a covered dog walking area.  The couple owns a Portuguese Water Dog. I love their priorities.

I’d say the people who hang their hats or dog leashes at Twelve Twelve have all they need within a few steps outside their door to keep them in sync with life in Nashville.
