A recent weekend in Atlanta was our first in the city in several years to see my stepson who always has a game plan, and I mean it was a schedule jam packed with food and fun and few timeouts!!! I did some shopping but the great outdoors was also on the agenda. If you haven’t experienced Atlanta’s Beltline, you need to next time you’re there; my waistline may have grown on this visit 🙂

Throngs of people were out walking their dogs, bicycling, roller blading, and people watching from various bars and restaurants along the path.

The Atlanta BeltLine is a former railway corridor around the core of the city. It’s being developed in stages as a multi-use trail with miles of pedestrian trails, modern streetcars, scenic parks and revamped communities. We experienced some of the fun restaurants with outdoor seating on our visit starting with Ladybird. I’ll just share a few highlights of our afternoon complete with dogs, Jack and Cru in tow and a few friends.

What a fun way to be with family and friends on a pretty Sunday and feel part of a community. We ambled along from place to place, each with its own flavor. Ladybird had a very fun relaxed style, then it was onto a more sophisticated setting. Lingering Shade Social Club felt like Napa or even a beachy style restaurant with an arbor covered patio. Jack was quite the hit at this stop!

Our third and final stop on this outing was Hawker’s Asian Street Food restaurant.

The BeltLine is expected to be completed by 2030 with 33 miles of trails. Such a great way to connect communities and revitalize neighborhoods!!!

Our Atlanta adventure also took us to a decades old silver shop to see some of the most exquisite pieces I’ve ever laid my eyes on!!!

Beverly Bremer Silver Shop is an institution in Atlanta. Founded in 1975, this silver retreat is a world renowned provider of fine sterling silver flatware, collectibles and just about anything else you can think of. Like this stilton serving piece.

Beverly Bremer was a maverick in the silver business back in 1975. She had nothing more than her own two sets of sterling and a need for cash to support her three children. She started with a booth in the Lindbergh Flea Market, and the rest is history. This is truly a silver destination with an international clientele.

No, I didn’t buy the spoon above. Yes, I should have, and still might get it as a gift for Keith. He loves silver. We have quite a collection that came from his family so he has great memories of using it throughout his younger life. I bought several small butter knives and look at the fork he purchased for sardines!!!

The owner, Mimi and her staff were so friendly and helpful as we walked around with our mouths open! Of course with masks on you couldn’t tell, but notice Keith giving me the eye in this photo below!

Of course I can’t complete this feature without sharing my new favorite restaurant in Atlanta.

The Garden Room at the St. Regis Hotel is exquisite in design and small bites and cocktails. Our wonderful friend, Laura Dean, in the photo above, knows just about everyone here. She’s a regular and wanted us to experience the enchanting venue. It is bursting with greens and pinks and soft lighting and did I mention the small bites and drinks?!?

I’m using the Garden Room’s instagram caption for this one. “Smitten to the core.” And we were, as we consumed this forbidden fruit. We had such a ball, even making a new friend before we left.

How wonderful to discover new destinations while also visiting my stepson. Between he and Laura, we’ll never be at a loss for adventure in Atlanta.
